The Tale of Tiny Timber

Personal Project

Story
Illustrations
Book Design

This project was a personal goal of mine since I became a father. The story came to me during the initial months with our first child, as I would supportingly get up with my wife when she had to nurse our son in the middle of the night. As she tended to him, I would sit in a chair and write out this tale. My goal was to create a children's book that served as an heirloom to hand down to our future generations. The biggest hurdle was arriving at the style of illustrations that I wanted to give to the story and over the years that followed, much of my efforts ended up on the floor, and the project was put to the backshelf.

Almost 20 year's later, and with the prospect of having adult children, I put the project to the front and arrived at the visual style that I felt best brought the reader into this little world I had created. Due to great feedback from those that have read the story and that it's lesson on embracing our differences as a community that is still valid after all of these years, I decided to publish the 52-page book and make it available for purchase through Amazon and local bookstores as well as a have a few limited-edition hardcover copies made as family heirlooms.

*I'd show more of the project but that would give away the story. ;)
